Our Assessment Services:

We are unable to offer a combined Dyslexia and Dyscalculia assessment.

In-person Dyslexia Assessment Service (Self-funded):

We can arrange an in-person Dyslexia assessment for all ages. The cost of an assessment with a specialist teacher is £690 and an assessment with a psychologist is £882. The locations that we can offer are listed in the booking packs when you start an application, these are kept up to date. If we do not have an assessor in your area we can offer a remote assessment by remote video platform using our Remote Dyslexia Assessment Service for those 12 years and over. Assessors are often booking a month in advance, but the earliest available date will always be offered.

In-person Dyscalculia assessment Service (Self-funded):

We can arrange an In-person Dyscalculia assessment for all ages. The cost of an assessment is £690 and is carried out with a specialist teacher. The locations that we can offer are listed in the booking packs. Dyscalculia assessments cannot be carried out remotely. Assessors are often booking months in advance, but the earliest available date will always be offered.

Remote Dyslexia Assessment Service (Self-funded):

If the person being assessed is aged 12 years (and over and can manage a remote assessment) the BDA can offer this via a video platform such as Zoom. The cost of an assessment with a specialist teacher is £690 and an assessment with a psychologist is £882. Assessors are often booking months in advance, but the earliest available date will always be offered.

Corporate Dyslexia Assessment Service (funded by third party):

The BDA can arrange assessments that are to be funded by schools, local authorities, universities, organisations and employers. The cost of an assessment via this route is also £690 with a specialist teacher and an assessment with a psychologist is £882. This includes VAT. Assessors are often booking months in advance, but the earliest available date will always be offered.

Funding.

Unfortunately, there is not usually any direct funding for diagnostic assessments in schools, colleges or other settings, generally, assessments have to be paid for by the person, parent, or employer. As dyslexia and dyscalculia are not medical conditions, a diagnostic assessment is not covered by the NHS.
