Assessments

Financial Support

Unfortunately, there is not usually any direct funding for diagnostic assessments in schools, colleges or other settings, generally, assessments have to be paid for by the person, parent, or employer. As dyslexia and dyscalculia are not medical conditions, a diagnostic assessment is not covered by the NHS.

The Theo Paphitis Bursary Fund

Thanks to the fantastic support of Theo Paphitis and the Ryman team, a small new round of bursaries is now available. This round of bursaries are aimed at supporting young people, aged 12-21 years old, in the Crewe area from low-income households.

Further rounds of bursaries will be available later in 2025, thanks to Theo Paphitis and the Ryman team. We are currently unable to confirm the timing or location of the next round of bursaries. However, updates will be shared on this page of our website when details become available.

Funding

As a charity, we will now actively pursue funding from grant-funding trusts and foundations. We believe we have a compelling case to put to funders and hope we will be able to offer more bursaries in the future. To do this, we invite contributions from individuals, companies, and grant makers. These donations will enable a greater number of bursaries to be awarded to those in need.

If you can support this cause and make a donation please do so or contact fundraising@bdadyslexia.org.uk.
